Terms of use
1. Not medical advice
This is the important one. CalChat is a food and activity logging tool. The calorie counts, macro splits, targets and suggestions it produces are estimates generated by software, not clinical advice. It is not a medical device and it has not been evaluated by any medical regulator.
Do not use it to diagnose, treat, or manage a medical condition. If you are pregnant, have diabetes, kidney disease, a heart condition, an eating disorder or any other condition affected by diet or exercise, talk to a qualified healthcare professional before changing what you eat or how you train. If you think you are having a medical emergency, contact your local emergency services.
2. Accuracy
Nutrition numbers come from public food databases combined with AI interpretation of what you typed. Portion sizes, recipes and preparation vary enormously, so figures are approximations โ useful for spotting trends, not for precise clinical measurement. You can correct any value the app produces, and you should if it looks wrong.
3. Who can use it
You must be 18 or over. You are responsible for anything done through your account and for keeping your password to yourself.
4. Fair use
Please do not:
- attack, overload, or attempt to break into the service or its API;
- script or scrape the demo or the API outside normal personal use;
- resell or redistribute CalChat's output as your own product;
- use the service to break the law, or to harm anyone.
We may suspend accounts that do these things.
5. Free tier and paid upgrades
Everyday logging, and every macro and micronutrient figure, are free. An optional paid upgrade raises AI usage limits. Pricing and refund terms will be published here before any charge is ever made; nothing on this site takes payment today.
6. Early access
The app is pre-launch. Joining the waitlist is not a purchase and guarantees neither a launch date nor a place in any particular release. Pre-release software can lose data and change without notice โ please keep your own record of anything you cannot afford to lose.
7. Your content
What you log stays yours. You grant us only the permission needed to store it and to run the features you asked for. See the privacy policy for how it is handled and how to have it deleted.
8. Availability and liability
The service is provided "as is". We do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from its use. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.
9. Changes
We may update these terms. The date above changes when we do, and material changes will be flagged in the app rather than made silently.
